School Psychologist
To provide psycho educational services of a diagnostic - prescriptive and consultative nature for referred students; to serve as a resource and consultant to school personnel and intervention teams.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Participates on building child study teams and instructional support teams.
- Conducts psychological evaluations of students as part of the multidisciplinary evaluation/re-evaluation process.
- Interprets evaluation results to parents and school personnel.
- Participates in applicable due process procedures.
- Pursues professional growth and development.
- Maintains current knowledge regarding applicable local, state and federal policies, regulations and standards.
- Acts as case manager for students receiving supportive and related services in order to coordinate the evaluation/re-evaluation process involving all related services and agency personnel.
- Serves as chairperson of the Multidisciplinary Team and generates the Comprehensive Evaluation Report.
- Participates as appropriate in evaluations of students referred for eligibility for Chapter 15 services.
- Consults with and serves as a resource for other pupil services personnel, school staff, district intervention teams and parents.
- Conducts in-service programs for staff, parents and administrators.
- Acts as a liaison among professionals of schools, institutions and agencies.
- Responds to supervisory recommendations in a prompt and positive manner.
- Makes recommendations for the efficient management of assigned responsibilities.
- May be required to work extended hours beyond the school year at the professional hourly rate.
- Performs such other duties/responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Special Education, Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
Required Qualifications and
Experience:
Educational:
Certification as a School Psychologist as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. 5 years teaching and/or guidance counselor experience preferred. Physical:
Holds valid Pennsylvania driver's license and access to personal transportation.
