Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field required
  • Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education (K-12) or equivalent required
  • Experience working with young students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) preferred
  • Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and other evidence-based practices for supporting students with ASD preferred
  • Ability to create and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with ASD, in collaboration with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Design and deliver instructional lessons that are differentiated to meet the unique needs of each student, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to promote communication, social skills development, and independence among students
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies and goals as necessary to ensure continuous improvement
  • Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning, respect, and emotional support for all students
  • Collaborate effectively with other educators, therapists, and support staff to coordinate services and optimize student outcomes

Salary -  School Year:

  • Professional: $62,155 - $89,730
  • Instructional I: $64,834 - $93,324
  • Instructional II: $69,353 - $101,911 - Master's degree
  • Master's degree plus 15 credits: $72,740 - $105,924
  • Master's degree plus 30 credits: $74,415 - $107,845
  • * placement on level directly tied to education level and previous experience*
