Transportation Construction Inspectors Trainees, Inspectors, Senior

ATCS's Construction Services group is expanding our cadre in Pennsylvania! We are looking for individuals with PA construction management and inspection experience. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience – Inspectors, Trainees, and Senior Inspectors – to join our team in Harrisburg, PA and surrounding areas.

• Perform transportation construction inspections on Highway, Bridges, Environmental, Traffic, and Facilities type projects.
• Write daily progress reports.
• Oversee contractor work crews to ensure compliance with contract documents, including reading and interpreting contract documents to verify that safe construction practices are being utilized to produce quality results.
• Perform field tests on materials (concrete slump/air, soil compaction, and HMA).
• Complete documentation of materials, labor compliance, safety, processing estimates, work orders, and adjustments.
• Report on‑site activities and daily progress to the Project Engineer via standardized reporting, and be responsible for calculation and determination of pay quantities.

• Recent graduates with Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or other related degrees will be considered; 4+ years of heavy highway experience or 2+ years of transportation construction inspection experience will also be considered.
• 2+ years of experience in construction, civil engineering, project management, or materials inspection.
• Knowledgeable in PennDOT Road & Bridges specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Skill in the use of field engineering and testing equipment, inspection methods and materials.
• Possession of or ability to obtain required certifications within 12 months of employment and maintain them, including:
  • PennDOT Concrete Technician Certification
  • NICET Level 2‑4 in Transportation & Highway Construction
  • OSHA 10 Hour Safety
  • PennDOT NECEPT
  • ACI Concrete Field – Testing Technician
  • PennDOT Flagger Training or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Proficient in Site Manager, or other project management software.

We offer a competitive salary range of $21.43 to $36.82 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus with a target of 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
