Materion Corporation seeks a Process Engineer to optimize manufacturing of high-performance alloys, coatings, and engineered materials. In this role, you will analyze and improve production processes, drive continuous improvement, and support new product scale-up in a safety- and quality-focused environment. Working cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations, you will lead problem-solving, implement Lean tools, and ensure processes meet demanding aerospace, electronics, and energy requirements while supporting Materion's global customers and innovation-driven growth.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, efficiency, and quality for advanced materials and alloys
  • Develop, document, and standardize process parameters, work instructions, and control plans for production lines
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for process deviations, scrap, and equipment issues
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations to scale new materials and products from prototype to full production
  • Implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and cycle time
  • Monitor key process indicators, compile reports, and present findings to leadership
  • Support equipment qualification, process validation, and capability studies (e.g., DOE, SPC)
  • Train operators and technicians on new processes, standards, and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards in a high-performance manufacturing environment
  • Partner with global teams and customers to meet technical specifications and performance targets
