Manufacturing Engineering Position
Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering opening with a manufacturer that serves the automotive industry that is located in Reading, PA. This person will be responsible for advancing manufacturing operations by developing, specifying, evaluating, and implementing safer, more repeatable, more reliable, and more cost-effective fabrication, assembly and finishing processes and equipment.
Responsibilities:- Develop, design, specify, test and maintain records for production equipment, tooling, gauges, jigs, and fixtures to optimize manufacturing process, including safety, quality and efficiency by studying product requirements and applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
- Project manage assembly and manufacturing projects
- Design and analyze labor and space requirements, product design, quality requirements, workflow, layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency, consistency and effectiveness of manufacturing and assembly operations and projects
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to design processes that produce product within product and process specifications
- Review and analyze product sketches, designs, models, and drawings to make recommendations to improve manufacturability; provide design support for manufacturing projects
- Promote company safety policies and develop technical solutions to improve operational safety
- Work with maintenance team, and outside contractors to improve current equipment and processes, improve performance, and minimize equipment downtime
- Actively participate and provide support in the daily activities of production teams
- Support and participate in lean initiatives, and develop the assembly and manufacturing processes to provide customers with products that meet or exceed customer requirements and drive continuous safety, quality and productivity improvements
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline
- 2+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Process Engineering
- Experience with sheet metal manufacturing processes including fabrication, finishing, welding (both steel and aluminum), and material handling (preferred)
- Experience with DFM DRMEA/PFMEA and their applications (preferred)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing (Preferred)
Schedule:
On-Site Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $90,000-$110,000 Per Year (Commensurate with Experience)
This is a Permanent position based out of Reading, PA.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
This is a fully onsite position in Reading, PA.
This position is anticipated to close on Sep 4, 2026.
