Job Summary

Open for X-ray Technologist I. Eligible applicants may receive a $20,000 sign‑on bonus. Geisinger may consider applicants for higher levels, such as X-ray Technologist II, based on skills, qualifications, and experience. Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes and perform a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.

• Ensure correct order obtained, patient properly identified and prepared, and clinical history documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety and applying ALARA principles.
• Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verify archival storage, transfer of data, and post‑processing.
• Educate and monitor students and other health care providers.
• Assist the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Perform diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed, including those performed outside the Radiology Department (e.g., operating room, endoscopy, ICU).

• New graduates must obtain ARRT‑R registry within 6 months of hire.
• Applicants hired after March 10, 2024, must complete steps required for advancing to level 2 within 24 months.

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology (Required).

• Certified Radiology Technologist within 24 months – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
