Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Valley Manor Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team.

For more than 50 years, Valley Manor has served the local community by providing high-quality post-acute care, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, and long-term care services. Our interdisciplinary team is committed to helping each resident achieve the highest possible level of independence, function, and quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

  • Carry out individualized treatment plans designed to improve residents’ strength, coordination, mobility, and ability to complete daily activities

  • Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, functional tasks, and adaptive techniques

  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and safe techniques

  • Monitor and document residents’ progress accurately and timely

  • Report changes in resident condition or performance to the supervising Occupational Therapist

  • Assist with the use and training of adaptive equipment

  • Participate in care planning meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and other members of the care team

  • Follow facility policies and all applicable state and federal regulations

Qualifications
  • Current and active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Current NBCOT certification

  • Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care experience preferred

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
