DMS Clinical Coordinator

Our client is a large healthcare organization, located near Reading, PA looking to hire a DMS Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities include maintaining current knowledge of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program goals, policies, procedures, and student progress. Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives; provides students with academic and clinical instruction, clinical supervision, and oversees laboratory simulation experiences. Ensures students have access to reliable clinical facilities where quality hands-on scanning is essential within the learning concentration.

Evaluates academic achievement, clinical competence, and reports progress. Understands the clinical objectives and clinical evaluation system; participates in the assessment process; provides remediation and counseling when necessary; contributes to periodic review and revision of academic and clinical course materials; ensures all agency policies and procedures are followed; maintains competency in the professional discipline and instructional and evaluative techniques through continuing professional development;

participates in student recruitment and the new student selection process.

Responsibilities also include providing instruction in the classroom and laboratory setting, evaluation of students and documentation of progress, periodic review of course content and classroom materials for currency, developing methods of assessing student learning and providing feedback in a timely manner, serving as a liaison for communication with clinical sites and maintaining effective relationships with clinical preceptors, coordinating and evaluating all clinical education activities to ensure students meet the clinical requirements established by CAAHEP, and assisting with student recruitment, selection, and orientation.

Qualifications include education requirements of a 2 year/associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (required). Relevant experience (minimum two years of full-time clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the clinical setting - (Preferred) and experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance in educational theories and techniques - (Preferred).
