Fleet Pride is the largest after‑market distributor of heavy‑duty truck and trailer parts in the U.S. The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales and operational performance of multiple branches within the area. This role focuses on developing and mentoring Branch Managers and providing leadership that exemplifies Fleet Pride’s values of Safety, People, Integrity, Customers, and Operational Excellence. Area Managers work closely with Branch Managers to align objectives and achieve financial targets for sales, margins, and EBITDA.
They also navigate internal and external networks to marshal resources that satisfy customers, grow market share, and achieve company objectives. Regular travel is critical to engage team members and customers, supporting Fleet Pride’s vision of being the preferred solutions provider for heavy‑duty parts and service.
- Hire and supervise Branch Managers and participate in the staffing process at each branch location to ensure positions are filled timely with the right people.
- Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities for Branch Managers and position them to coach others.
- Conduct regular branch location visits to celebrate successes, identify opportunities, and drive overall above‑market performance.
- Create a best‑in‑class employee experience by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and safety at all branch locations.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for Branch Managers, providing constructive feedback and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and execute area‑level sales strategies to meet or exceed financial targets for sales, margins, and EBITDA.
- Drive organic growth through new customers and expanding share of wallet with existing customers including local fleets, regional fleets, and national accounts.
- Collaborate with branch leadership to develop and implement strategic account plans outlining growth opportunities and milestones for local/core account management.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance via key performance indicators across branches, identify trends, and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Coach team members to leverage the “Fleet Pride Way to Sell” method in all aspects of account management.
- Provide regular reports to the Regional Senior Director on branch performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Drive safety awareness with team members, including training for Fleet Pride’s safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Drive operational excellence through SOP and KPI standardization, identifying waste while improving the customer and employee experience.
- Develop and implement operational strategies at the branch/area level that optimize resources and meet local customer expectations.
- Take ownership of financial P&L results at the branch and area levels to ensure performance aligns with strategic objectives. If objectives are not met, formulate action plans with sales and operations teams.
- Provide regular reports to the Regional Senior Director on branch/area performance, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Maintain clean and organized facilities to support a safe, efficient, and welcoming work environment.
- Work closely with other area managers and corporate departments to ensure alignment of area activities with overall company objectives.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and the adoption of best practices across the area.
- Actively participate in regional and company‑wide meetings, sharing insights and providing feedback to improve overall operations.
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) – required.
- Associate degree in Business, Management, or a related field – required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the heavy‑duty truck parts industry.
- Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position.
