Location Description

Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY

The Breaking Operator is responsible for ensuring product quality by monitoring shell eggs and liquid egg production throughout the breaking process. This position plays a key role in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance by identifying and removing defective eggs and monitoring equipment to prevent inedible product from entering the production stream. All team members are expected to follow safety policies, food safety standards, and quality procedures at all times.

DUTIES

AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Comply with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Rotate between two production stations:
    • Candler: Inspect and remove damaged, cracked, dirty, or otherwise defective shell eggs according to USDA standards.
    • Breaking Machine Operator: Monitor the breaking machine and remove inedible egg product by operating diversion controls when necessary.
  • Monitor product quality and take corrective action when specifications are not met.
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, SQF, and sanitation requirements to maintain food safety and product quality standards.
  • Report any food safety, quality, or workplace safety concerns to management.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with teammates and supervisors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • No prior experience required; training will be provided.
  • Basic reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and work in a structured production environment.
  • Ability to use common sense and sound judgment when identifying product quality or safety concerns.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent visual inspection of eggs and product quality.
  • Exposure to production equipment, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
