We are seeking a skilled professional to provide instrumentation and controls engineering services in Reading, PA. Known for its rich history and vibrant community, Reading offers a great environment for both work and leisure.
ResponsibilitiesWork independently to complete demanding assignments using advanced design theories, techniques, and practices on small to medium-sized projects.
Collaborate within a team environment with minimal supervision, adhering to customer, company, and industry standards.
Perform moderately to difficult drafting assignments, applying established drafting techniques, standards, practices, and software.
Oversee the preparation of design and detail drawings from sketches, plans, or other design/specification data.
Direct the work of junior designers, ensuring drawings meet client requirements and project specifications.
Participate in design reviews with clients, advising on technical design, drafting issues, and compliance requirements.
Demonstrate a proven track record of completing work scopes within time and budget constraints.
Develop layouts, plans, sections, elevations, and details for facilities and equipment from reference drawings or catalogs.
Perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
Travel to job sites to perform site walkdowns and document as-installed conditions.
Coordinate all instrumentation and controls drawings.
Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the project.
Qualifications Technical and Industry Experience5 years of experience in electrical design.
Experience with Smartplant Instrumentation (SPI), AutoCAD, and Micro Station design software packages; AVEVA E3D is a plus.
Experience with Smart Plant 3D and participation in 3D model reviews.
Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of instrumentation and controls.
Proficient in the use of relevant software such as the MS Office Suite.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, TrainingRequired:
A degree or diploma in instrumentation design and drafting with discipline-specific training.
Preferred:
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in electrical design and drafting.
