Manufacturing & Industrial Operations, Material Handler
Manufacturing Position
This position is responsible to manufacture, process, assemble, inspect, transport, pack, and/or ship materials per work instructions, standards, and/or guidelines.
Essential functions include:
- Following safety, quality, operating standards and guidelines
- Processing material per work instruction; monitoring production process
- Inspecting material per work instruction, internal quality requirements
- Training and qualifying on various equipment/positions; training other employees as needed
- Using forklift/tow-motor to transport material/items
- Using crane (various types) to transport material/items
- Changing propane tanks on forklifts/tow-motors as necessary
- Actively participating in continuous improvement process
- Cleaning area and machines daily
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor
Physical requirements:
- Extensive walking and/or standing – up to 12 hours per shift
- Lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing required
- Lift up to 50 lbs., as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma
- Strong work ethic, organizational skills, and learning agility
- Solid communication skills, including verbal and written
- Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English
- Must be able to operate mobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts and cranes
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed
- Must be able to work multiple shifts as needed
- Read micrometers, calipers and other measurement devices
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic computer skills
- Manufacturing experience preferred
