Overview
Geisinger is proud to offer a full‑time Inpatient RN position with a hiring incentive up to $24,000 for eligible candidates. The minimum hiring rate is $41.50 per hour, with increased rates for experienced applicants and up to $7 per hour in shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates. Unit

- Assesses, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet patient needs. Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve high-quality care, safety, and patient satisfaction. Demonstrates compassionate care in patient–nurse interactions. Coordinates patient care and staff interactions. Ensures the ability to care for patients in the assigned unit. Optimizes every patient and family interaction to enhance experience.
- Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulates, coordinates, and provides a plan of care including patient and family education, discharge planning, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides direct patient care including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises the plan of care based on patient response.
- Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other team members to proactively resolve patient needs.
- Solves problems, troubleshoots, and takes corrective measures in equipment care and handling. Participates in unit-based decisions regarding evidence‑based practice.
- Actively participates as a team member working toward unit and organizational goals; accountable for unit and system metrics.
- Engages in patient quality and safety education programs and other activities to improve departmental and organizational quality and safety.

GP2 is a 24‑bed advanced acute care unit providing complex inpatient care, including telemetry and frequent observation. Patient diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, cardiac conditions, renal and GI disorders, sepsis, and postoperative care.
GP2 offers a fast-paced, team‑oriented environment and collaborates closely with the emergency department and PACU. This unit is suitable for nurses pursuing ER work or interest in critical care.
Schedule is 0.9 FTE (36 hours) with straight nights, including every other weekend and every other holiday rotation.

Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (Required) - Experience

Basic Life Support Certification;
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
