Job Description Summary

The clinical research coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of study coordination, including subject recruitment, data entry, collection of biospecimens, subject visits and follow‑up, and regulatory documentation.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Research Coordinator A The primary role is the organization, coordination, and implementation of research studies for the Penn Pregnancy & Perinatal Research Center. The essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Detailed screening of patients for eligibility across multiple studies
  • Consenting patients into multiple studies
  • Collaborating with the clinical team to provide a positive encounter
  • Providing clinical services, including phlebotomy and collection of biospecimens as required by the protocol; intercepting and responding to study participants’ phone calls; performing telephone follow‑up per protocol
  • Collecting and managing data in accordance with study protocol; maintaining source documents and case report forms; responding to database queries and chart reviews as needed
  • Coordinating with community partners to encourage recruitment and retention

Clinical Research Coordinator B In addition to the responsibilities above, the CRC‑B will:

  • Coordinate scheduling of study participant visits with investigators and nurse practitioners per protocol
  • Ensure all tests and assessments at each visit are performed; report adverse events and ensure review and appropriate follow‑up by investigator
  • Prepare detailed documentation of study activities

Position contingent upon continued funding.

Qualifications

Position requires a highly motivated, articulate individual with excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate should possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong planning, organizational, and prioritizing capabilities, along with problem‑solving skills.

Clinical Research Coordinator A

BS degree and 1‑2 years related experience in research and clinical study methodologies (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Must be able to work flexible hours.

Clinical Research Coordinator B

BS degree and 2‑3 years related experience in research and clinical study methodologies (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required. Must be able to work flexible hours.
