Account Manager – Industrial & Commercial Transportation (ICT) – Midwest Region
Responsible for promoting and selling TE Connectivity products and solutions within Indiana and Ohio, with potential coverage of nearby states. The position is home‑based and reports directly to the East Territory Sales Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Drive sales growth through maximization of resources and execution of market segment strategies.
- Serve as the primary interface between the customer and TE Connectivity.
- Secure sales wins by ensuring innovative, value‑added propositions and early customer engagement, maintaining an Extraordinary Customer Experience throughout the sales cycle.
- Work closely with OEM engineering to develop engineered solutions utilizing TE's existing product portfolio and development capabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships at all levels within the customer to position TE as a strategic partner.
- Assess and qualify new business opportunities and manage new product streams.
- Maintain a high level of awareness regarding industry trends and competitive activity within the territory.
- Effectively communicate with all team members to promote the business needs of the territory and foster growth.
- Identify application areas where TE does not have a dominating position and define account coverage and product requirements.
- Work with regional leaders to ensure they are supporting the global customer, becoming the preferred supplier in identified regions/products.
- Understand all aspects of the customer, including available market, market share, business objectives, goals, and technologies.
- Deliver annual growth plans for the specific customer and define account‑specific tactics under consideration of customer’s and TE’s strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Engineering or Technology degree preferred. - 3–5 years of experience in Sales, Distribution Sales, Marketing, Business Development, or Project Management.
- Experience in various Sales, Business Development, and Marketing assignments with Key Customers.
- Successfully managed an outside sales territory with a proven growth record.
- Strong problem‑solving, strategic and tactical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Ability to form successful working relationships quickly at all levels.
- Knowledge of trends, competition, and technology that will influence product and sales.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and influence without direct authority.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Talent to effectively organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions, and solve problems independently.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required.
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $92,000 – $120,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location).
- Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits.
