Business Development Manager – Water Markets (Northeast US) Summary
As a Business Development Manager, you will drive growth across the Northeast territory by developing new business opportunities, influencing project specifications, and building strong relationships across commercial and engineering stakeholders. This role is critical to expanding market presence by combining technical expertise, commercial focus, and relationship-driven selling within water storage tanks, stormwater systems, and related infrastructure applications.
Responsibilities- Achieve territory sales and margin targets through disciplined pipeline management and CRM utilization
- Develop and expand the Northeast territory by generating new project opportunities, specifications, and customer relationships
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with engineers, commercial clients, distributors, and industry stakeholders
- Drive specification development by engaging engineering firms and supporting technical decision‑making on infrastructure projects
- Execute strategic territory plans, including market analysis, competitive insights, and accurate forecasting
- Represent the company through technical presentations, project engagement, and customer-facing activities across the region
- Travel as needed to support customer engagement and project development
- 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or engineering within infrastructure or commercial construction-related markets
- Experience working with engineering firms, commercial clients, or distribution channels
- Hands‑on exposure to water storage tanks, stormwater systems, or similar applications
- Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product applications
- Ability to support specification development and contribute to project-based sales cycles
- Civil or mechanical engineering background or equivalent technical experience
- Experience with tanks, fire protection systems, pumps, or stormwater infrastructure
- Familiarity with specification-driven sales processes, takeoffs, and project pipelines
- Sales and margin management, pricing, bidding, and specification development
- CRM proficiency (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics) and MS Office tools
- Strong communication, territory planning, and market analysis skills
- Ability to build relationships and succeed in a field-based, customer-facing role
