Specialty Building Products is seeking a Moulding Market Development Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Region to join our values-driven organization. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities within the moulding category across the Mid-Atlantic market. The Market Development Manager is responsible for new business development and the strategic marketing of our products to achieve established sales, gross margin, and profitability targets within the moulding and boards categories.
EssentialFunctions
- Proactively leads and partners with sales to achieve performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones in the moulding category
- Conduct training, job site visits, AIA presentations, technical support for installers, dealer yards, and builders across assigned US Lumber footprint, in conjunction with full line outside sales and sales managers
- Create primary demand with dealers, builders, architects, and/or end users
- Establish business plans to meet objectives, goals and quotas for assigned category
- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and market trends within the Mid-Atlantic region
- Communicate opportunities regularly with branch sales and operations staff
- Implements selling process with account planning and sales calls
- Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
- Travels in the field as needed to build relationships with customers and vendors
- Identifies growth opportunities within existing accounts and target accounts
- Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis
- Able to train, develop, and guide sales teams to work with you in building the territory
- Work with vendors to make sure relationships are strong and ensure pricing and availability are in alignment with goals
- Make sure inventory levels support needs in the market; manage non-performing inventory to ensure it is cleaned up in a timely manner
- Good oral and written communication skills including timely and thorough follow‑up with stakeholders
- Ability to make sales and product presentations
- Ability to negotiate and solve problems
- High attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work cross‑functionally
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of prior sales experience
- 2–5 years of building material industry and moulding experience
