Position Overview
Part‑time seasonal school crossing guard duty. The employee directs traffic at an assigned intersection to ensure the maximum protection for children traveling to and from school. The work is performed under the immediate supervision of a police officer or patrol supervisor and involves light physical effort and exposure to inclement weather.
Responsibilities- Direct traffic at a specific intersection for the safety of students.
- Work under the supervision of a police officer or patrol supervisor.
- Maintain safety procedures during inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Physical ability to perform duties and work in the required environmental conditions.
- Background checks required: FBI criminal history, Pennsylvania State Police, and Pennsylvania child‑abuse background checks as stipulated by the Child Protective Services Law.
