Position Overview
As a Corrections Maintenance Foreman with the Department of Corrections, you help maintain a secure and well-functioning facility at the State Correctional Institution (SCI) r role leads inmate crews in completing a wide range of maintenance and repair projects that support daily operations. Your guidance helps ensure that work is completed safely, correctly, and on schedule.
Responsibilities- Plan daily assignments for inmate crews, guide their work, and inspect completed tasks.
- Perform or assist with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, or other skilled trade work.
- Issue, track, and inventory tools and materials and conduct searches to maintain accountability.
- Determine needed supplies and submit purchase requests for materials and equipment.
- Maintain order during work details and provide instruction on safe operation of tools and machinery.
- Carry out additional tasks that support maintenance operations across the facility.
Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.
- Work hours:
7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Tuesday – Saturday. - Telework:
No telework option.
- Four years of experience performing building maintenance, construction, or general trades work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
