We are searching for a Maintenance Technician for our processing plant. The ideal candidate is a multi‑trade problem solver, highly skilled and highly motivated, comfortable in a clean food‑grade environment, able to troubleshoot a variety of equipment, and ready to work as a team to accomplish big‑picture goals.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, maintain, and install processing and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot building’s electrical distribution, HVAC, and lighting systems
- Follow planned maintenance procedures and schedules to maximize efficiency and lifespan of production equipment and building systems
- Respond to line calls and maintenance tickets according to priority
- Maintain building systems and structures including HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and miscellaneous items
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to devise solutions for building and production equipment issues
- Assist with parts and materials inventory
- Document usage of parts and materials
- Document completion of all maintenance items per the planned maintenance procedure in place
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma with trade school, apprenticeship, or relevant military experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical theory and troubleshooting
- High level knowledge of electrical circuits and drawings
- Background in troubleshooting control/low voltage systems
- Proficient in electrical test equipment such as multimeters, amp meters, and meggers
- Skilled in safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Well versed in maintenance safety protocols, including PPE and LOTO
- Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally; ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to identify unsafe situations and work with team leads to mitigate risks
- Strong communication skills: verbal, electronic, and written
- Comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age (or 18 in CT, PA, and WV)
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening
- Push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to at least 5 feet high and 50 feet distance, with or without mechanical assistance
- Work seated or standing at workstations for extended periods, maintain equilibrium while climbing ladders or stairways, and use hands/fingers repeatedly for tasks
- Handle organic matter daily, wear appropriate PPE, and be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95°F or greater)
- Maintain visual acuity for reading, viewing a computer terminal, and examining small parts; clarity at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
- Speak and communicate verbally at conversation level with co‑workers and vendors
