Automotive Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
Join the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) as an Automotive Mechanic and bring your skills to Fort Indiantown Gap. This role gives you a chance to work on a wide range of vehicles and equipment that support important daily operations. This position focuses on repairing and maintaining automotive equipment and machinery used across Fort Indiantown Gap. It involves hands-on mechanical work that ensures dependable operation of a wide range of vehicles and equipment. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties:
- Engine Repair
:
Perform major and minor repairs on gasoline and diesel engines - Equipment Service
:
Repair and maintain equipment such as backhoes, loaders, tractors, mowers, and generators - Vehicle Maintenance
:
Repair mechanical defects and replace parts including brakes, clutches, and transmissions - Diagnostic Testing
:
Test engines to identify causes of malfunction or mechanical failure - Safety Inspection
:
Inspect vehicles for proper safety and compliance with regulations - Record Keeping
:
Prepare repair records, maintenance reports, and parts requests
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- You must possess a current and valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- You must obtain and maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
