As a County Social Services Aide 1, your work focuses on assisting families with daily needs and supporting children through supervised visits, transportation, and in‑home guidance. This is an excellent opportunity for one‑on‑one assistance and communication with families to work toward positive goals and outcomes.
- Family Support:
Provide training and guidance in budgeting, parenting, nutrition, and home care - Visit Supervision:
Monitor and support visits between children and parents in safe settings - Transportation Assistance:
Transport clients to appointments, services, and supervised visits as required - Home Assistance:
Help families with daily household needs, errands, and emergency support tasks - Record Documentation:
Prepare written updates, maintain files, and report information to caseworkers - Community Coordination:
Assist with programs, meetings, and activities that support children and families
- Full‑time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch.
- Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
- Possible after‑hour appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
- Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position. - Salary:

- Graduation from high school; or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
