Position Summary

The Parenting Support Professional works with families enrolled in Achieva’s evidence‑based parenting education program. Using the Nurturing Parenting Program, this trauma‑informed, family‑centered role supports parents in developing nurturing skills, navigating daily living tasks, and strengthening their connections to community resources. Services may include supervised visitation, life skills coaching, and advocacy in educational or legal settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support parents in achieving life experiences that reflect personal growth, independence, and stronger family relationships
  • Build trusting, respectful relationships with parents, children, and their support networks
  • Implement nurturing parenting curriculum and strategies during visits and individualized sessions
  • Support participants in attending appointments, court hearings, school meetings, and community programs
  • Communicate and collaborate with professionals, including child protective services and behavioral health providers
  • Respond appropriately to crisis situations, following established protocols and team direction
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality and integrity in all interactions
  • Obtain CPR certification within six months of hire
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field (required)
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and properly insured vehicle (required)
  • Ability to become CPR certified within six months of hire
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Passion for supporting families and promoting self‑determination
  • Must live in Washington County
