Position: County Caseworker 2 (Local Government) - Beaver County C&Y (Multiple Vacancies)

Beaver County Children & Youth Services is looking for a motivated County Caseworker 2 who is ready to bring hope and stability to families in need. This position supports families and children who are facing a wide range of needs and challenges. You will serve diverse populations while applying a strength‑based approach to help guide your work. As a County Caseworker 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Engage Families: Build trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communicate clearly in person and in writing
  • Assess Needs: Review family situations to understand risks, strengths, and service requirements
  • Coordinate Services: Work with various agency units to connect families to ongoing, intake, teen, or intensive supports
  • Maintain Records: Document case information accurately using computer systems and follow agency procedures
  • Adapt

    Schedule:

    Adjust work hours when needed, including occasional weekends
Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full‑time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Sunday–Thursday, with a 1‑hour lunch.
  • The work hours include mandatory travel time, overtime, and after‑hours work.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications
  • Six months of experience as a County Caseworker 1
  • Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program
  • A bachelor's degree with a social welfare major
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social service agency
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree or credits.

Other Requirements
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
