Job Description

Location & RoleDriver CD L located in Reading, PA, helping us drive the future of snacking.
What You Need to Know About This Position- Schedule:
Monday-Friday, Saturdays if needed. Starting between 12 a.m.–5 a.m.; finish when work is completed. 40 hours per week. - Principal location:
Penske location 255 River Front Dr., Reading, PA. - Interstate routes:
Philadelphia PA, Delaware, Baltimore, and Reading PA area.
- Ensure compliance with procedures and conduct regular safety checks of your equipment (tractor, trailer, pallet jack, etc.) to guarantee safety.
- Complete daily field service activities, including preparing receipts, truck logs, and maintenance records.
- Perform all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch.
- Must have a CDL‑Class A license and at least one year of proven safe driving experience.
- Possess a valid REAL r’s license, U.S. passport, or federal role will service a military base facility where a valid REAL r’s license, U.S. passport, or federal required to access.
- Preferred direct‑store delivery (DSD) experience.
- Successfully pass our drug test, MVR, and background check.
- FMCSA’s Clearinghouse Registration required. (Link to get started provided: FMSCA.)
- Customer‑oriented attitude, providing excellent support to key customers.
- Minimum one year of safe driving experience with no serious driving convictions; DOT check for the last ten years.
- Familiarity with OSHA and DOT regulations, as well as local, state, and federal requirements.
- Basic understanding of temperature‑controlled food transportation.
- Proficiency in using a smartphone and an electronic logging device (ELD) for logging positions and driving times. Able to use a scanner and log deliveries.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing routes and working schedules.
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions and varying temperatures.
- Hourly pay rate: 3 months – $31.30; 6 months – $32.30; 1 year – $33.30.
