Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis, providing high-quality care and education to children in the Reading and surrounding areas. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring the children's physical, emotional, and educational needs are met. Key Responsibilities- Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging activities, promoting learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment
- Provide individual support to children, including those with special educational needs, to ensure their unique requirements are met
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, including observations, assessments, and development plans
- Collaborate with the nursery team to create a stimulating and inclusive atmosphere, fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ensure the nursery setting is clean, tidy, and well-organised, adhering to health and safety standards
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or a related field (e.g., NVQ, Diploma, or Cache) preferred but not required
- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting, preferably with children aged 0-5 years. Preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends, and bank holidays
- DBS check (we can support you with this process if required)
- Competitive hourly rate of up to £14.70
