FLOURSHING FAMILIES ASSESSMENT SERVICES

We have an opportunity for experienced support workers for both day and waking night shifts to join our Residential Family Assessment Unit based in Reading, Berkshire. We are looking for enthusiastic and committed people who are reliable and able to offer emotional and practical support to our families (Parents/Carers and children up to 2 years old).

• Full time (36 hours)
• Part time (Up to 24 hours)

Flourishing Families Assessment Services is located in a quiet residential estate in Reading, Berkshire. You will work under our Ofsted Registered Manager and our assessing Social Work Manager/Social Workers. Potential candidates will need to remain focused, calm and work in a Child/Family‑Centred way ensuring that they remain professional at all times. The ethos of our Residential Family Assessment Unit is to provide a homely and family‑like environment to those being assessed by Family Court/Local Authority directive.

• To safeguard and promote the welfare of all our families within the Residential Families Assessment Unit and in the community.
• To contribute to the provision of a secure, stable, supportive environment for the families which respects and promotes their health, culture, religion, race, identity and lifestyle.
• To maintain and promote family residential support work to high levels of professionalism expected by Ofsted under regulation The Residential Families Centres Regulations 2002.
• Ability to keep clear and accurate records ensuring that good quality report logs are maintained as required.
• Good communicator and excellent interpersonal skills and good organisational skills.
• Ability to be an active team player and to work on own initiative.
• Commitment to good practice and a positive team approach to work.

• To ensure our unit is kept clean and in a tidy condition, encouraging parent/carers to participate as appropriate.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
• All staff are required to adhere to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) and respect the confidentiality of all matters in respect of families.
• Ensure that all matters of concern are reported to Managers/Lead Family Practitioners within the appropriate policy time frames.
• To complete all mandatory training (Face to Face or Online).

Scheduled shifts will consist of the following:
This role is not a 9.00am to 5.00pm and will require the applicant to be flexible.

• 12-hour Shifts
• Waking Night Shifts
• Weekend Shifts

• Any Social Work Qualification i.e. (Newly Qualified etc.)
• Students studying Social Work (1st, 2nd or Final Year)
• NVQ (Children) Level 3 and above

• Residential Family Support in a Parent and Child Unit
• Children’s Centre
• School/Nursery
• Local Authority
