Chef manager

Berkeley Scott is seeking a Chef Manager for agency catering work based in Reading, with assignments across surrounding areas starting this September. This temporary role, paying £22.00 per hour, offers flexibility as you lead kitchen teams in school settings and various catering companies. You will manage daily operations, plan and prepare nutritious meals, and supervise staff to maintain service standards. Responsibilities include stock control, ordering, budget management, and overseeing food costs.

Pay: £22.00 per hour.

• Managing the day-to-day running of busy catering kitchens.
• Planning, preparing, and delivering fresh, nutritious, high-quality meals.
• Leading, motivating, and supporting kitchen teams to deliver excellent service.
• Managing stock, ordering, budgets, and food costs.
• Ensuring compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen regulations.
• Building strong relationships with clients and maintaining high catering standards.

• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar catering management role.
• An Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Two professional references.
• The right to work in the UK.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and adapt to different sites.
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, although this is not essential.
