Working for NSG NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others.

This work is delivered at NSGs own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

To competently perform the duties of a qualified technician as part of a team engaged in the installation, modifications, maintenance, repair, testing and trials of all types of systems and equipment as instructed by Project Manager / Supervisor / Project Engineer, in accordance with relevant drawings and Safe Systems of Work.

Perform Technician Tasks Encountered In Activities Such As

• Installation
• Operations (including testing and trials)
• Maintenance and repair

Carry out support installation, modification, EMIT (examination, maintenance, inspection & test), decommissioning tasks as required

Work from schematics / diagrams / drawings to install equipment

Install systems and equipment in such a way as to comply with any relevant regulatory or legislative requirements

Complete and maintain as necessary all associated records and documentation

• Completion of a recognised electrical apprenticeship or equivalent training
• City and Guilds Level 3 certification in Electrical Engineering
• IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Qualification
• Experience in electrical installation, examination, maintenance, inspection & test, decommissioning
• Familiar with site / factory work environments
• Fully conversant with IEE Regulations
• Work experience within engineering, science or construction environment
• Familiar with working on nuclear licensed site or similar with specific hazards / operations
