An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy and modern workshop environment in Reading.

Shift Pattern

Rotating Monday to Friday shifts:

· 06:00 - 14:30

· 14:30 - 23:00

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of commercial vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring maximum vehicle uptime and safety.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs.

· Diagnose mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.

· Complete repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and workshop procedures.

· Accurately complete job cards and service documentation.

· Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure efficient repairs.

· Conduct road tests where required.

· Assist with roadside breakdown support when necessary.

· Report vehicle defects and ensure all work is completed safely.

· Maintain workshop equipment, tools and working areas.

· Support and mentor apprentices and trainee technicians.

What We're Looking For

· NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.

· Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.

· Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

· Positive attitude with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.

· Full UK Driving Licence.

· HGV Licence advantageous but not essential.
