Overview
We are currently recruiting for an Electrician on behalf of a bespoke electrical and mechanical engineering company that manages the complete mechanical engineering process including design, manufacture and commissioning. They mainly work within Water Utilities.
Operating over 35 years, they are a family owned organisation who have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service.
They have a client base that boasts some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. Mainly working within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries they provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation.
As the Electrician you will be working on a range of equipment including pumps, motors, control panels, lights etc. This role will require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff (both senior and junior) and external clients/contractors in a polite, professional and courteous manner, providing electrical/controls technical support requirements for multiple projects company wide.
This is a permanent position, based out of Reading, paying £48,048 - £52,416 per annum depending on experience. It works Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. 4:30pm finish on a Friday.

Responsibilities- Carry out electrical installation work to BS7671.
- Carry out installation, service and repair to a variety of low voltage electrical control systems.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of a variety of instrumentation systems, including pressure, levels, temperature and flow.
- From time to time, they may be asked to take charge of a working party and be responsible for less skilled employees, therefore they should be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Health & Safety issues and leadership skills.
- Be capable of carrying out test and inspection of electrical installation and providing satisfactory documentation as required by the Company's nominated certificating body (NICEIC, ECA etc.).
- Provide written technical reports and other documentation as required by senior engineering professionals.
- All Electricians should be PC literate and be able to demonstrate a basic background in IT skills.
- Water industry experience (preferred)
- 18th Edition Qualified or other relevant electrical qualification.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Ability to fault find, diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Good customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
