As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for dismantling, repairing, and reassembling accident-damaged vehicles while ensuring every repair is completed safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Stripping and refitting mechanical, electrical, and trim components
- Inspecting vehicle structure, suspension, and mechanical systems
- Reassembling vehicles following repairs and carrying out quality inspections
- Performing wheel alignment and vehicle safety checks where required
- Identifying additional damage and reporting repair requirements
- Completing quality control checks and ensuring all repairs meet manufacturer standards
- Maintaining accurate repair documentation and job records
- Ensuring all safety-critical components are fitted and torqued correctly
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean, safe working environment
- Working collaboratively with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, and Vehicle Damage Assessors to maintain an efficient repair process
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as an MET Technician, Strip & Fit Technician, or Vehicle MET Technician within a Bodyshop or Accident Repair Centre
- Strong mechanical, suspension, and auto electrical knowledge
- Experience carrying out high-quality strip and refit work to manufacturer standards
- Knowledge of computerised wheel alignment systems
- Air Conditioning and Encapsulated Glass qualifications (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing first-class repairs
- A positive, team-focused attitude with strong communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
