Water Hygiene Engineer
Mobile across the M4 Corridor. Salary £38‑42k based on 40 hours labour. Overtime available.
Are you a water hygiene engineer looking for a new mobile role with a growing company? This company supports various commercial facilities across the south of England and is recruiting a mobile technician to cover sites from Swindon to London. Most workdays will be in Swindon, Reading, Oxford, Newbury, Basingstoke and Slough, with limited work in London.
Role OverviewThis is a hands‑on role working across a variety of commercial and industrial sites, delivering high‑quality water hygiene and treatment services.
Location:
ideally based in or around Swindon, Reading or Slough.
- Routine water hygiene tasks in line with ACoP L8 and HSG
274 - Cold water storage tank inspections, cleaning and disinfection
- Tank and system disinfections (including chlorination works)
- Temperature monitoring, sampling and reporting
- TMV servicing and general system checks
- Closed system cleans, dosing and analysis
- Servicing and maintenance of water softeners and reverse osmosis (RO) systems
- Maintaining accurate records using job management systems
- Strong background in water hygiene
- Experience with water softeners and RO systems (installation, servicing, fault‑finding)
- Experience with tank disinfections and closed‑system works
- Basic understanding of pumps/boosters (advantage but not essential)

- Build skills in areas many engineers don't typically get exposure to
- Previous experience in water hygiene (minimum 1 year preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
- Good understanding of compliance and safe systems of work
- Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally stay away
- Strong communication and reporting skills
