Van Technician Vacancy - Reading
Join our client as a Van Technician and become an essential part of a dedicated workshop team focused on servicing and repairing a variety of vans. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled vehicle mechanics seeking a rewarding role within a reputable business located in Reading, Berkshire. If you are experienced with van repairs and eager to work in a stand‑alone position with plenty of variety, this Van Technician role could be the perfect next step in your automotive career.
Benefitsfor the Van Technician
- Up to £40,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm
- 1 in 3 Saturdays 8.30am – 12.30pm paid as x 1.5 overtime rate
- Plenty of additional overtime available if wanted
- Working for an independent van & motorhome specialist business
- Lots of pre‑delivery inspection & service work for variety of vans – working on your own accord
- Level 3 qualifications required with van experience necessary
- Stable, long‑term career with a company committed to quality service
- Carry out routine servicing including oil and filter changes, brake inspections and PDI checks on vans and motorhomes
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including air conditioning systems where applicable
- Conduct test drives following repairs to ensure quality and safety standards
- Based within a standalone workshop environment, working with minimal supervision
- Manage own workload efficiently while maintaining high standards of work
- Keep accurate records of repairs and service maintenance
- Assist in preparing vans for sale by completing necessary inspections and repairs
- Fully qualified vehicle technician with experience working on vans or motorhomes
- Strong diagnostic skills, particularly with electrical systems
- Valid driving licence with experience in testing and driving vans
- Previous experience working on brands such as Ford, Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen beneficial but not essential
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of repairs
- Knowledge of air conditioning systems is a plus but not mandatory
- Reliable, punctual, and able to start early as required
