Van Technician

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable independent business based in Reading, seeking a skilled Van Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vehicle technician to work within a standalone workshop environment, servicing and repairing a variety of vans and motorhomes. Benefits:

- Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 8am – 4.30pm
- 1 in 3 Saturdays, 8.30am – 12.30pm, paid at 1.5x overtime rate

Duties as a Van Technician involve:

- Perform routine services including oil and filter changes, brake inspections, and pre-delivery inspections on vans and motorhomes
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and faults, including air conditioning where applicable
- Conduct test drives after repairs to ensure safety and quality standards are met
- Manage own workload efficiently, maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Keep accurate records of repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance
- Assist in preparing vehicles for sale through inspections and repairs
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision, taking ownership of each repair and service

Requirements:

- Fully qualified vehicle technician with Level 3 qualifications or equivalent
- Proven experience working on vans and/or motorhomes
- Strong electrical diagnosis skills
- Valid UK driving licence with experience testing and driving vans
- Experience working on brands such as Ford, Fiat, Peugeot, Citroen is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating ownership of repairs
- Knowledge of air conditioning systems is desirable but not mandatory
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours to meet workshop needs
