Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Workshop-Based Plant Fitter to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to work on a variety of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, and more. Responsibilities

As a Workshop-Based Plant Fitter, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest safety and operational standards.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and documentation.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Proven experience as a Plant Fitter or similar role, preferably in a workshop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and telehandlers.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance or engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

  • Inspecting and diagnosing machinery brought into the workshop.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Testing equipment to ensure it is fully operational before returning it to service.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Keeping the workshop organized and ensuring tools and equipment are in good condition.
