Tax Manager

Job Overview

Withum’s Tax Services Group brings together a team of tax specialists working to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting, minimize tax liabilities, and develop economical tax strategies across international, U.S. federal, state, and local regulations. As a Tax Manager located in our Red Bank, NJ office, you will lead all aspects of tax engagements, supervise and mentor staff, and build and maintain client relationships.

• Review individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns prepared by tax staff and seniors for accuracy
• Research and draft memoranda on complex tax matters
• Identify and implement tax planning opportunities
• Handle and resolve tax controversies
• Oversee complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and industries
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines
• Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly
• Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or related field) is required
• CPA license, JD, or Master of Science in Taxation is required
• At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
• Exceptional client service and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, results-based team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities to represent the firm to client management
• Excellent organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to travel as needed

Base salary ranges from $110,000 to $175,000. In addition to base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package, a bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance, and additional benefits available on our website at
