Violations Clerk - Municipal Court (Full Time)
The Borough of Red Bank is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused professional to serve as a Violations Clerk in the Municipal Court. The anticipated salary range for this position is $22.34 to $32.55 commensurate with qualifications and experience. Under the direction of the Municipal Court Administrator, the Violations Clerk performs clerical, customer service, and financial record‑keeping duties in support of Municipal Court operations.

- Assisting the public in person, by telephone, and electronically regarding Municipal Court matters, including court dates, fines, payments, and procedures.
- Processing traffic summonses, motor vehicle complaints, court documents, and related correspondence.
- Accepting appearances, waivers of trial, guilty pleas, and payments of fines and costs in accordance with court procedures.
- Collecting, balancing, and processing payments and preparing daily deposits.
- Entering, maintaining, and safeguarding Municipal Court records and information systems.
- Issuing and rescinding traffic warrants in accordance with established procedures.
- Assisting with courtroom operations and proceedings as assigned.
- Maintaining confidentiality of court records and sensitive information.
- Performing other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Municipal Court Administrator.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clerical experience involving recordkeeping, records maintenance, customer service, or related office support functions.
- Proficiency with computers and standard office software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle financial transactions accurately and maintain confidential information.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced public environment.
- Municipal Court experience and bilingual (Spanish) skills are preferred but not required.
- Willingness to attend required Municipal Court training and continuing education.
Pursuant to the applicable collective bargaining agreement, this position is being posted internally and externally simultaneously to facilitate the recruitment process.
