Elementary School Teacher Grades 1 to 5
- Strong math skills
- Maintain a high professional standard consistent with the mission of Saint James Elementary School and the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Develop and implement lesson plans that demonstrate a thorough understanding of the curriculum and instructional practices of SJES
- Implement and model developmentally appropriate classroom practice, including communication, social/emotional well-being, and positive guidance strategies
- Implement classroom management strategies which promote student responsibility, problem solving skills, and student accountability
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise students in a safe, nurturing, positive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
- Work as a team player with designated teaching team
- Utilize data to drive instruction
- Provide small group, differentiated learning experiences
- Bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and a "can-do" attitude to the position
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Education with evidence of coursework/experience in the specified areas
- New Jersey (or out of state equivalent) teacher certification (standard certificate or certificate of eligibility)
- The course load for this position includes direct religious instruction according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. As such, the successful applicant must be a practicing Catholic.
