The Capital Markets Financial Futures and Options Department at Marex plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s capital markets activities by facilitating trading and client access across futures, options, and related interest‑rate products. As part of a front office function, the team supports trading activity through close coordination with middle office and support teams, ensuring trades are processed accurately and efficiently.
This department not only provides market expertise and business support but also establishes the minimum required standards for trading processes and controls, reinforcing Marex’s commitment to transparency, consistency, and operational excellence throughout its global footprint.
The Capital Markets – Financial Futures and Options Analyst is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day operations of the trading desk, assisting with trade allocations, confirmations, and coordination with middle office teams. This role will focus on ensuring accurate trade processing and timely resolution of issues, while providing additional capacity to the desk and enabling senior members to focus on execution, market analysis, and client engagement.
In today’s fast‑paced and highly dynamic interest rate markets, efficient desk support and strong operational coordination are essential to effective trading activity. By developing a deep understanding of futures, options, treasury, and swap markets—with a particular focus on interest rates—the team supports accurate execution and builds a strong foundation for long‑term development, including potential rotations across desks within the New York office.
Responsibilities- Support the day‑to‑day running of the trading desk, assisting with trade allocations, confirmations, and liaison with middle office teams.
- Ensure accurate trade processing and timely resolution of discrepancies, supporting smooth desk operations.
- Develop a deep understanding of interest‑rate products, including futures, options, treasuries, and swaps, applying this knowledge in daily desk support.
- Provide additional capacity to the desk through execution of core support activities, enabling traders to focus on market activity and client engagement.
- Participate in learning and development opportunities, including potential rotations with other desks in the New York office to broaden product and market exposure.
- Stay informed on regulatory developments and industry standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges and regulatory bodies.
