About Us

Relief Mental Health was founded in February 2020. Within five years, we have expanded to 12 new offices across Illinois, Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Colorado. We aim to create a new standard for mental health care, offering a continuum of innovative therapeutic interventions and responding to evolving patient needs.

Job Summary

The clinical assistant will work closely with the Mental Health Provider to perform basic tasks such as vital signs and point‑of‑care testing (urine drug screens, pregnancy tests) and other patient care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail‑oriented, and eager to assist patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high level of professionalism, empathy, and compassionate support to patients, families and colleagues.
  • Greet and assist visitors and patients as they arrive.
  • Review all patient paperwork for completion and accuracy.
  • Provide and score assessments, including administering a C‑SSRS assessment as needed.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for patients: answering phone calls, voicemails, and emails.
  • Complete daily clinical tasks: scheduling appointments, entering patient demographics and data into the EHR, billing, notes, and patient record maintenance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of office, preparation and upkeep of examination/treatment rooms.
  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, test results, and other information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Assist providers with point‑of‑care testing, vital signs, and other patient care.
  • Assist providers with pharmacy calls, prescription questions and issues.
  • Assist with prior authorizations for medications.
  • Assist with administrative tasks: printing, faxing, shredding documents, ordering inventory, and proper documentation.
  • Follow all company protocols and procedures to ensure consistent care across all clinics, maximize efficiency and meet required deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with all health‑care regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Assist with other tasks delegated by the Provider(s), Clinic Manager, or Regional Director of Operations.
  • Work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends.
  • Cross‑train in the administration of TMS.
Skills
  • Proficiency in Google Suite/Drive.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Knowledge of all health‑care regulations and confidentiality protocols, including HIPAA.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to work both with a team and autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, Medical Assistant Certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous healthcare experience highly preferred; mental health setting is a plus.
  • Ability to learn and maintain Electronic Health Record system – Tebra (previously Kareo) is a plus.
  • Valid CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain during training period.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 20 lbs – moving or assisting patients and other equipment may be required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods during shift.
