Physical Therapist – Per Diem
RIVERVIEW MEDICAL CENTER, Red Bank, New Jersey
We provide goal‑oriented physical therapy treatment programs to restore function and prevent disability from trauma, disease, amputation, congenital defects, surgery, and other conditions.
Responsibilities- Participates on committees as requested by Supervisor.
- Delivers the highest level of service to all residents, families and visitors.
- Models and maintains a safe environment, employs correct body mechanics during activities, demonstrates and implements appropriate treatment techniques and skills, completes resident treatments as scheduled.
- Develops and maintains a discharge plan established at initial evaluation, updates it throughout therapeutic treatment, and completes discharge summaries in a timely manner.
- Assesses the need for durable medical equipment, follows through with appropriate professionals, ensures proper fitting, and educates residents/families on use and care.
- Prepares written documentation such as Progress Notes, Reassessments and Discharge Summaries, updates short‑term goals and treatment plans as appropriate.
- Completes re‑evaluations in a timely manner, updates goals and treatment plan as per policy.
- Develops rapport and mutual respect with residents and families, provides education in an understandable manner.
- Gathers all necessary information to evaluate resident needs, including testing and consultations with other health professionals.
- Handles special projects and rush assignments as needed, in a timely manner.
- Develops individualized treatment program based on established goals, utilizes assistive/adaptive devices and durable medical equipment to improve independence.
- Ensures proper utilization and clinical appropriateness of devices, educates residents/families on proper use, fit and signs of malfunction.
- Assesses and manages safety and body mechanics for therapy provision.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Graduate of an APTA accredited program or equivalent.
- Physically able to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb stairs and lift up to 20 lbs. without aid.
- Dexterity and eye‑hand coordination for holding, positioning, manipulating, typing and data entry.
- Visual and auditory abilities to monitor instruments, computers and sounds.
- Physical ability to react/respond quickly in emergencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
- Physical Therapist License.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) HCP Certification.
Flat Rate: $59.22 per hour. Pay equity and transparency per the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.
