Navesink Country Club’s Golf Operations team is seeking a Golf Merchandiser for the 2026 season. As one of the premier private country clubs in the Northeast, Navesink prides itself on delivering a high-touch, luxury experience for our members and guests in a true four-season environment.
From championship golf and full-service dining in the warmer months to a vibrant winter campus featuring outdoor skating and hockey, Navesink offers a dynamic club culture that values excellence, attention to detail, and thoughtful presentation across all amenities.
About the RoleThis position is ideal for a retail-minded professional with experience in a high-end, service-oriented club or specialty retail environment who takes pride in curating, buying, and presenting merchandise at a premium level.
The Golf Merchandiser will have primary responsibility for all golf shop apparel and accessory buying, working closely with the Head Golf Professional to seasonal assortments that reflect member preferences, club identity, and current trends. The ideal candidate is available starting in April through the end of the year, and although the role is full time, this role has the option for extended downtime during the months of January and February while our operation is closed.
This is a fast-paced, detail-driven position during the club’s peak season — a true “100-day sprint” on the Jersey Shore — and is best suited for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys owning their area of responsibility.
The position will pay a minimum of $1,000 per week, with the potential for Additional Shop Income Percentage Bonus based on Shop Revenue, Vendor Trunk Show Additional Percentage Income, and Potential for New Brand Introduction Bonus.
The hired candidate should expect to make up to $1,350 per week all in with bonus revenue potentials included.
- Background in high-end private club retail, golf retail, or specialty apparel merchandising
- Strong buying instincts with an eye for style, quality, and presentation
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing inventory and deadlines
- Confident communicator with vendors and club members alike
- Energetic, positive, and service-driven, with pride in the finished product
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- PGA or AGM Membership is Preferred, Not Required
- Past experience as a Retail Associate, Shop Manager, or Merchandiser at a high-end service facility
- Lead all golf shop buying for apparel, headwear, footwear, accessories, and select hard goods, working in step with the Head Golf Professional and Golf Shop Manager
- Curate seasonal assortments that align with Navesink’s brand, member demographics, and sell-through goals
- Manage vendor relationships, including line reviews, special orders, trunk shows, and in-season reorders
- Oversee inventory management, pricing strategy, and product flow throughout the season
- Execute strong visual merchandising standards, including floor sets, mannequins, displays, and signage
- Monitor sales performance and adjust assortments to maximize sell-through and minimize excess inventory
- Deliver exceptional member-facing customer service in the golf shop
- Work alongside the current Golf Shop Manager to continue growing the already successful Retail Space
- Collaborate with the Golf Operations team during tournaments, member events, and major club days as needed
