Currently, we are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to manage the procurement of materials and supplies vital to our window & door manufacturing operations. This role oversees purchasing activities, inventory controls, and purchasing staff while driving continuous improvement across procurement processes, and is located at our Windows division in Red Bluff, California.
About the Position- Manage daily purchasing activities and oversee purchase order processes
- Lead, mentor, and motivate purchasing and inventory teams, providing guidance and accountability
- Supervise, train, direct, and coordinate work of the purchasing and inventory teams
- Identify and implement innovative improvements to current purchasing and inventory processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing decisions with product and production needs
- Manager and review purchase orders (POs) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and on‑time delivery
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, service, reliability, and cost
- Negotiate with vendors for best price, contracts, and payment terms for ongoing/recurring needs
- Effectively manage and maintain inventory to ensure adequate supply, including just in time and minimum levels
- Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and purchasing data to identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Resolve vendor performance issues, delivery delays, and quality concerns
- Use sound judgement to make purchase decisions and produce supporting documentation to completion
- Conduct and oversee regular cycle counting activities and resolve discrepancies
- Identify opportunities and take measures to reduce waste and inefficiencies
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards
- Maintain documentation for department operations, disciplinary actions, Workers’ Comp, attendance, etc.
- Manage scheduled time off, unexpected absences, and modified duties of the crew
- Recognize and recommend crew commendation, corrective, disciplinary, and discharge actions
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or Business Administration or 4 years’ equivalent related working experience
- Preference given for manufacturing experience, ideally within window and door production environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew and drive process improvement and innovation
- Ability to handle multiple priorities under demanding circumstances
- Proven experience negotiating with vendors and research alternative material source
- Demonstrated history of integrity, good judgment, and confidentiality
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and math skills

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $70,000 and $90,000 per year, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
