Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician - RED BLUFF, CA; 2ND SHIFT

Position Summary

Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Performs basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment, including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles. Creates and processes work orders, assesses maintenance, repair, and replacement needs, identifies needed parts, selects the best solution, and conducts maintenance, repairs, and replacements. Performs brake system work such as air, antiskid, ABS, and disc brake repairs and replacements;

removes and replaces leaky wheel seals; dismounts and installs tractor‑trailer tires following Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Communicates with customers, suppliers, and associates verbally and in writing and completes work order records, logs, and other documentation per established procedures. Receives fuel drops, conducts fuel sampling, monitors safety compliance, collects and prepares fuel samples for analysis, and completes appropriate paperwork.

Valid state‑issued driver’s license. Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25. Vehicle inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.

Microsoft Office 365 Certification, DOT Transportation Certification.
