Overview
Position Title Accommodation Service Assistants (Summer)
We are hiring multiple term-certain, part time Accommodation Service Assistants to help us over the summer. This position is open to students. The Accommodation Services Assistant positions are responsible for supporting the Residence Accommodation operation. This includes providing customer service support, reservation management for our guest accommodations and front desk support. This position works closely with the Residence Operations Coordinator and Administrative Officer-Accommodation Services.
ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service/Administrative Duties
- Provides administrative support for Residence Move-In, Move-Out, Health and Safety Inspections, Maintenance Requests, Emergency evacuations and daily Residence Operations
- Processes transactions utilizing point of sale system and maintains cash float including daily cash reconciliation
- Performs on-call duty responsibilities including responding to residents and guests requests, complaints, emergency situations and general supervision of Residence
Reservation Management
- Takes reservations for conference and short term accommodation guests in person and over the phone
- Sorts and distributes keys for both individuals and groups
- Completes and distributes a spreadsheet to the housekeepers detailing the rooms requiring cleaning and/or towel changes
- Performs minimal daily housekeeping tasks
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent to 12 years of schooling
Experience
- Knowledge of Red Deer Polytechnic including both the physical environment as well as the services offered
- General computer knowledge/ability to use various programs (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Experience working in a customer service environment
- Ability to work both in isolation as well as in a team environment
Completion of a 1-year college certificate, one year University or equivalent
Salary and BenefitsSalary
Hourly rate starting at $19.83 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information
An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation. Eligibility to access benefits is dependent upon the terms and conditions of employment.
