Position Summary:The Information Services Assistant – Summer Student is a seasonal position responsible for providing office and administrative support in information management, records, IT, digital filing, projects, and other support or assistance duties for the Information Services team.
Responsibilities:- Work with staff on our digital document repository (will train) for active projects around our digital transformation project
- Provide support services by responding to internal service request inquiries by staff for on going and ad hoc projects and records
- Utilize office equipment including scanners, printers, label makers and computers for word processing, filing and spreadsheet creation or maintenance
- Provide assistance in organizing the file rooms, digital files, IT or GIS supplies
- Provide assistance in capture of 360 road imagery of County roads
- Attend team meetings and provide input as part of the team
- Ensure adherence to all applicable Wheatland County policies and bylaws
- Ensure compliance with OH&S including attendance at safety meetings, being properly trained in OH&S related topics, and ensuring work is completed in a safe manner
- Appropriately, and in a timely manner complete administrative tasks (e.g., timesheets; reports), when required
- Relate to and communicate with co-workers, management, and vendors sincerely, clearly, tactfully, promptly and courteously; respond to inquiries promptly and professionally
- Perform tasks, consistent with the position, including special projects / assignments and administrative duties as may be required on an ad hoc basis
- Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers’ licence
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to help maintain our information services
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation Is working towards education in or has experience in one or more of the following office/clerical roles, Information Management, Records Management, Enterprise Content Management and/or Information Technology
- Collaborative, open communicator and able to work using collaboration tools such as MS Teams
- Experienced, proficient, and comfortable working with computers and learning new software as well as using productivity software such as word processing, spreadsheets and email
- Experienced using various office equipment (e.g., printers, scanners and label makers)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds or 23 kilograms
