Element5 is seeking an Experienced Lumber Procurement Specialist to play a vital role in its mass timber operations. This position requires a strong background in lumber procurement and supplier negotiations to ensure a consistent supply of quality lumber for CLT and glulam applications. The role's hybrid nature involves significant travel and collaboration with teams to optimize efficiencies and enhance product performance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strengthen partnership relationships with sawmills and traders
• Analyze lumber sorting data for enhanced grading procedures
• Drive continuous improvement in supplier evaluation systems
• Work cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality
• Negotiate and audit suppliers for better process outcomes
Requirements:
• At least 5 years in the lumber industry
• Deep knowledge of lumber processing and grading
• Understanding of CSA and ANSI standards
• Technical proficiency in Excel and BI tools
• Excellent communication across teams and stakeholders
