Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Controller role based in Red Deer, AB. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements. The role will involve managing budgets, assisting with financial audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The Assistant Controller will also work closely with the finance and leadership teams to support strategic financial planning and reporting activities.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and preparing financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Experience with general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Relevant experience in the construction, oilfield, or industrial sectors is a plus
