Chinook’s Edge School Division invites applications for two general public members for its Audit Committee. This important role requires an accounting designation and a commitment to financial governance.
The Audit Committee will meet at least once a year and will assist in fulfilling the Board’s financial oversight and compliance responsibilities. The successful candidates will engage with the Board of Trustees on financial reporting and audit processes, playing a vital role in ensuring fiscal integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Board and Superintendent in financial oversight
• Review internal control and reporting effectiveness
• Participate in the audit evaluation process
• Monitor compliance with financial regulations
• Attend at least one Audit Committee meeting annually
Requirements:
• Valid accounting designation is required
• Must be independent from the Division and audit firm
• Strong understanding of financial oversight principles
• Willingness to engage in compliance monitoring
• Submit a letter outlining qualifications and interest
